Artificial Intelligence (AI) has quickly advanced. Now, discussions are moving from what AI can do to whether it can be conscious.

In an interview with Andrew Marr on 30 January 2025, the Nobel Prize-winning physicist Geoffrey Hinton discussed the possibility of artificial intelligence developing consciousness. He expressed concerns about the implications such developments could have for humanity, including the potential for AI to take over the world. Can AI Become Conscious?
